Our Impact
30 Years of
Cycle for the Cause
Cycle for the Cause
100% of funds support The NYC LGBT Community Center’s programs and services.
Our History
Cycle for the Cause began in 1995 from an urgent need: to support LGBTQ+ New Yorkers facing the HIV/AIDS crisis. For 30 years, our community has ridden with the red ribbon close to our hearts, honoring those we’ve lost and celebrating the resilience of those who continue to thrive.
Today, that legacy lives on in every mile. HIV and AIDS services remain central to The Center’s mission and our fundraising impact. We ride in gratitude for the activists, advocates, and survivors who built the foundation we stand on. We ride in solidarity with people living with HIV who continue to lead, inspire, and strengthen our community. We ride knowing that the fight against HIV/AIDS continues, and our support remains unwavering.
Every participant in Cycle for the Cause carries forward this legacy of love, loss, resilience, and hope. The red ribbon that began our journey remains woven into our story as we expand our impact to serve the needs of all LGBTQ+ New Yorkers. This is how our community endures: by honoring our past while building our future.
